Porcelain Veneers Sydney CBD
Dental Care Glebe in Sydney CBD offers a range of dental restorations and cosmetic dentistry, all with the purpose of giving you the confident, white smile that you deserve. That’s why we provide expert applications of porcelain veneers, a durable and long lasting solution to aesthetic or functional problems with your teeth.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers, or dental veneers, are very thin, custom-made pieces of durable, tooth-shaped porcelain shells that are designed to cover the front surface of the teeth in order to improve their appearance. They are bonded onto the front of the teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile, and they may change the size, colour, shape or length of your existing front teeth.
Dental veneers made of porcelain function and look just like your normal tooth enamel, resisting stains and protecting the core of your teeth. They can often be used as alternatives to crowns, and they are the ideal solution in treating many dental conditions. As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and while long lasting, they may someday, after many years, need replacement.
Why Consider Porcelain Veneers?
At Dental Care Glebe in Sydney CBD, we routinely use dental veneers to fix:
- Unattractive teeth—veneers can help cosmetically to create a uniform, white smile
- Crooked or stained teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Severely discoloured or stained teeth
- Teeth that are too large or small
- Unwanted or uneven spaces
- Worn or chipped teeth
Procedure for Getting Porcelain Veneers at Dental Care Glebe
We usually require you to make two visits to our Sydney CBD practice in order to complete the process. The procedure requires little to no anaesthesia.
Our dentists will begin by preparing your teeth with some light buffing and shaping of the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. We’ll take a mold or impression of your teeth, and then together, you and the dentist will choose a shade or colour for your veneers.
On the second visit, your teeth will be cleansed with special liquids in order to achieve a durable bond. We’ll place bonding cement between the tooth and veneer, and use a special light beam to harden and set the bond.
Once the bonding is complete, we’ll remove any excess bonding cement, evaluate your bite and make any final adjustments.
After the Procedure
Your dentist might have you come back in for a follow-up appointment within a few weeks to make sure your gums are responding well to the foreign presence and to re-examine the placement of the veneers.
You will receive care instructions for veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new veneers.
Advantages to Dental Veneers
Many patients choose to have veneers because they provide a natural tooth appearance. Porcelain is the material of choice because it is most stain resistant and it is tolerated by gum tissue well. In general, veneers offer a conservative approach in cosmetic dentistry to changing the shape and colour of your teeth.
